The easiest way to reach Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT) is by Dubai Metro. Use DMCC Metro Station (R37) for the southern and central clusters or Sobha Realty Metro Station (R36) for the northern side. Both are on the Red Line, and the Dubai Tram provides onward connections around Dubai Marina.

JLT is a large neighbourhood of more than 20 lettered clusters around several lakes. Your best station depends on the exact cluster—not simply the destination name.

How to get to JLT by Metro

Board a Red Line train toward the side of the network containing DMCC and Sobha Realty.
Exit at DMCC (R37) or Sobha Realty (R36) based on your tower.
Follow signs for Jumeirah Lakes Towers rather than Dubai Marina.
Continue on foot, by JLT community bus, RTA bus or taxi.

Both stations are on the same Red Line section. If travelling from a Green Line station, change at BurJuman or Union.

From Dubai International Airport

From DXB Terminal 1 or Terminal 3, board the Red Line toward Expo 2020/Life Pharmacy and travel to DMCC or Sobha Realty. No line change is normally required, but Red Line branch destinations can vary; check the platform display.

Allow roughly an hour for the full airport-to-JLT journey, plus walking and waiting time. Large luggage is allowed within RTA rules, but weekday peak trains can be crowded.

From Downtown Dubai

Take the Red Line from Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall toward Expo 2020/Life Pharmacy. Exit at Sobha Realty or DMCC. The Metro is usually more predictable than a road trip during evening traffic.

From Old Dubai

Use the Green Line to BurJuman or Union, transfer to the Red Line toward Expo 2020/Life Pharmacy, then exit at the appropriate JLT station.

Reaching JLT by bus

DMCC states that community connectivity is supported by two routes, JLT 1 and JLT 2, operating from the DMCC and nearby metro side at roughly 20-minute intervals. Stops and service details can change, so check the current map before relying on a particular stop.

RTA bus routes also serve roads around JLT and Dubai Marina. Use the official RTA Journey Planner or S’hail with the exact tower name for live routing.

Metro and Tram connection

The Dubai Tram’s Jumeirah Lakes Towers Station (03) connects the area with Dubai Marina, JBR, Media City and the Palm Jumeirah tram stop. It is not the same as a Metro station.

Metro hours and fares

Standard Dubai Metro network hours are generally:

RTA fares depend on the zones crossed. Standard Silver nol fares are commonly AED 3, AED 5 or AED 7.50 for one, two or three-plus zones. The Metro-to-Tram transfer is integrated when made correctly with the same nol card.

Walking in JLT

JLT is pedestrian-friendly within each cluster, but the full district is large. Factor in:

Footbridges and station exits across Sheikh Zayed Road.
Hot and humid conditions from late spring through early autumn.
Building entrances that may face the internal cluster road rather than the lake.
Lift and bridge time if travelling with a stroller or luggage.

In summer, a short taxi from the correct Metro side can be more comfortable than a long outdoor walk.

Driving or taking a taxi

Tell the driver the cluster letter and tower name, not only “JLT.” Road access is arranged through internal one-way loops, and a missed entrance can add time. Visitor parking varies by tower; confirm with your destination before driving.

Accessibility

DMCC and Sobha Realty stations provide lifts, escalators, accessible gates and tactile guidance. Most major pedestrian links are step-free, but the final path to an individual tower can vary. Ask the building reception about the best accessible entrance.
