Walking from the Metro is not recommended in hot weather: the route is several kilometres, includes major roads and offers limited shade.

Alternative Red Line stations such as Equiti or Mall of the Emirates may work depending on traffic, but ONPASSIVE remains the best-known connection in existing local guides. Compare live taxi times rather than assuming the nearest station by straight-line distance is fastest.

How to get to Sunset Beach by bus

Route 8 travels along the Jumeirah coastal corridor and has served stops around the Palm Jumeirah, Madinat Jumeirah, Burj Al Arab and Umm Suqeim areas. A useful nearby stop has been Saeed Majid Bil Yoha Masjid, followed by a walk to the beach.

Routes 83, 84 and F55A should not be treated as current direct options without checking first. Networks and route alignments change, so use RTA S'hail to search from your exact starting point.

Sunset Beach is a broad public beach with a clear view towards Burj Al Arab. Visit Dubai highlights it for sunset views, morning jogging, surfing, fishing and a beach-library station where visitors can borrow or donate books.

The beach is quieter and less commercial than some beach-club areas. Bring what you need, but do not leave valuables unattended.

Night swimming and safety

Visit Dubai identifies Sunset Beach as one of the city's night-swimming locations. Large lights illuminate a designated area, traditionally allowing swimming up to about 30 metres from shore until midnight.

Only swim inside the signed, lifeguarded zone and obey flags and announcements. Weather, waves, water quality or maintenance can close swimming without notice. “Beach access” does not mean every part of the sea is supervised 24 hours.

Facilities

Facilities have included washrooms, changing rooms, showers, Wi-Fi, a beach library, surfing instruction and nearby diving activity. Services can be temporarily unavailable, so visitors who need accessible changing or a specific facility should confirm with Dubai Municipality.

There are dining choices elsewhere in Umm Suqeim, including the long-established Bu Qtair seafood restaurant. Jumeirah Beach Hotel and the Burj Al Arab area are nearby, but access to hotel facilities requires the relevant booking.

Sunrise: cooler, quieter and suitable for walking or jogging.
Late afternoon: best for the namesake sunset, but parking and beach space become busier.
