Dubai Police met with the National Human Rights Institution (NHRI) to build a stronger partnership focused on protecting human rights in the UAE.
The NHRI team was led by His Excellency Maqsoud Kruse, Chairperson of the Institution, and His Excellency Dr Saeed Al Ghafli, Secretary General. They were welcomed by senior officers from Dubai Police, including:
This visit was part of a national effort to bring different authorities together. The goal is to protect human rights more effectively and follow international standards.
During the meeting, His Excellency Maqsoud Kruse said that the NHRI is working to build strong partnerships with law enforcement. He said Dubai Police is a great example of how police can follow global human rights rules. He also shared hope that both sides will launch a joint plan that turns shared values into real change.
“Protecting dignity, justice, and equality takes more than talk, it takes teamwork,” Kruse said.
Major General Abdul Quddoos Al Obaidli also praised NHRI’s work. He said Dubai Police, under the leadership of Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, gives high importance to human rights. He added that the police are fully ready to support new ideas that build a fair and safe society for all people.
As part of the visit, the NHRI delegation learned about the work of the General Department of Human Rights. They also got updates from the General Department of Correctional and Punitive Institutions. These departments work to protect the rights of all people, including those in jail and those in vulnerable groups.
