Which exit should you use?

Al Rigga’s exits serve different sides of Al Rigga Road and surrounding hotel streets. Follow the sign for your building before leaving the paid area.

  • Al Rigga Road: select the exit signed for the main commercial street.
  • Al Muraqqabat: check the building pin; some addresses are a 10–20 minute walk.
  • Hotel pickup: tell the driver the hotel name and station exit because “Al Rigga Metro” has multiple curbside meeting points.
  • Clock Tower: it may be more convenient to walk from City Centre Deira for some addresses; compare the map.

Bus connections

The C09 route is commonly associated with Al Rigga Metro bus stops and connects toward Hor Al Anz East via the Al Qiyadah area. Nearby roads also carry additional city services, but stop names and route patterns can change.

Use the RTA Journey Planner with the exact station-side stop. Do not assume a bus listed near Al Rigga serves both sides of the road.

Nearby places

Al Rigga Road

A busy street lined with hotels, restaurants, cafés, exchange houses, pharmacies and convenience stores. Many destinations are walkable from the station.

Al Ghurair Centre

The mall is closer to Union Metro for many visitors, though it can also be reached from the wider Al Rigga area. Check the walking route before choosing a station.

Al Muraqqabat

This neighbouring district contains hotels, restaurants and residential buildings. Walking time varies considerably across the area.

Deira City Centre

For the mall itself, City Centre Deira Station (R16) is the correct stop. It is one station north of Al Rigga.

Fares and nol cards

RTA fares depend on how many zones you cross. Standard Silver nol fares are commonly AED 3 for one zone, AED 5 for two zones and AED 7.50 for three or more zones. Gold Class costs double.

Use the same card to tap in and out, and maintain enough balance for the maximum fare. Confirm charges on the official nol fares page.

Getting to common destinations

  • Dubai International Airport: take the Red Line toward Centrepoint to Airport Terminal 1 or 3.
  • Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall: take the Red Line toward Expo 2020/Life Pharmacy.
  • Baniyas Square or Gold Souk: ride one stop to Union, change to the Green Line toward Creek.
  • Bur Dubai: change at Union or stay on the Red Line to BurJuman, depending on the destination.
  • Dubai Marina/JLT: remain on the Red Line toward Expo 2020/Life Pharmacy and exit at Sobha Realty or DMCC.

Station facilities and accessibility

The station has lifts, escalators, accessible gates, tactile guidance, ticket machines, toilets and staff assistance. Platform screen doors separate passengers from the tracks.

The surrounding streets are generally walkable but busy. For step-free access to a specific hotel, contact the property and ask which station exit avoids stairs or difficult crossings.

Hotels near Al Rigga Metro

The area has a high concentration of budget and mid-range hotels. Examples commonly associated with the wider district include ibis Al Rigga, Hyatt Place Dubai Al Rigga and several independent hotels.

Do not choose purely by the phrase “near Al Rigga.” Check:

  • Walking distance from the correct exit.
  • Whether the route crosses a major road.
  • Check-in time and luggage storage.
  • Tourism fees and taxes not shown in the headline room rate.
  • Night-time noise if the room faces Al Rigga Road.

Practical tips

  • Weekday peak trains can be crowded because R17 is close to Union and the airport corridor.
  • Use City Centre Deira Station for the mall rather than walking from Al Rigga.
  • Use Union to transfer to the Green Line.
  • Friday evenings and weekends are busy around restaurants and hotels.
  • For RTA assistance, speak to station staff or call 800 90 90.
