Where is Sharaf DG Metro Station?

The station is beneath Khalid Bin Al Waleed Road in Al Souq Al Kabeer, Bur Dubai. Despite its commercial name, it is not primarily a stop for an electronics showroom. It is a practical arrival point for:

  • Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood
  • Meena Bazaar and textile shopping
  • Al Seef waterfront
  • Dubai Museum and Al Fahidi Fort area
  • Al Khaleej Centre
  • Bur Dubai restaurants, hotels and trading streets

Walking times depend on the exit and destination. In summer, allow extra time and use a map app because the old street network is not a simple grid.

Metro operating hours

DayNetwork operating hours
Monday–Thursday5:00 am–12:00 midnight
Friday5:00 am–1:00 am the next day
Saturday5:00 am–12:00 midnight
Sunday8:00 am–12:00 midnight

These are network hours, not the exact first or last train at G25. Holiday schedules can change. Check the official RTA timetable or S'hail before an early or late journey.

Which direction should you take?

  • For Al Ghubaiba, Al Ras, Gold Souq, Baniyas Square or Union, board towards e&.
  • For BurJuman, Oud Metha, Dubai Healthcare City, Al Jadaf or Creek, board towards Creek.
  • Change to the Red Line at BurJuman or Union.

BurJuman is one stop away and is usually the easiest interchange for travellers continuing towards Dubai Mall, Dubai Marina or Expo City.

Best exit for Al Fahidi, Meena Bazaar and Al Seef

Exit signs and street works can change, so follow station wayfinding for Al Fahidi and Khalid Bin Al Waleed Road instead of relying only on an exit number copied from an old guide.

  • Use the Al Fahidi side for the historical neighbourhood and museum area.
  • Use the Meena Bazaar side for textile shops, Indian restaurants and Bur Dubai shopping streets.
  • For Al Seef, expect an outdoor walk; a short taxi may be more comfortable with luggage or in midday heat.

Tip: Save the exact venue pin before leaving the station. “Al Fahidi” can refer to the historical district, a street area or the station's former name.

Buses and onward travel

Bus stops around Musalla Road and Khalid Bin Al Waleed Road connect Bur Dubai with nearby districts. Routes and stop assignments change more often than the Metro network, so enter the station and destination in S'hail on the day of travel.

Taxis are normally available on surrounding main roads. For creek crossings, continue to Al Ghubaiba or walk toward the abra stations, depending on the destination.

Facilities and accessibility

Sharaf DG is air-conditioned and provides ticket machines, nol top-up, lifts, escalators, toilets and staff support. Step-free access is available between street, concourse and platforms, subject to temporary maintenance.

There is no dedicated RTA park-and-ride at G25. Drivers should use legal paid parking and check restrictions carefully; spaces are limited in the older streets.

Food, shopping and useful places

Popular established places include Al Khaleej Centre, Meena Bazaar, Al Ustad Special Kebab, vegetarian restaurants, supermarkets and small textile or jewellery shops. Businesses and opening hours change, so confirm a venue before making a special journey.
