His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum personally honored the winners of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award. The award is run by Suqia UAE, part of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives.
The goal is simple. Inspire innovation and reward real solutions that solve water scarcity, pollution, and unsafe drinking water challenges.
This fourth edition celebrated 12 new technologies that deliver clean water at low cost to underserved communities worldwide.
“Charity is better than water,” Sheikh Mohammed stated. “And the best of people are those who benefit others.” He applauded the Suqia team for organizing the event and for driving sustainable water access globally. Their work has changed lives.
Suqia UAE has delivered over 1,000 water projects in 37 countries, helping more than 15 million people gain access to clean drinking water. The winning innovations include solar desalination, mobile purification units, and digital water systems that reduce cost and increase reach.
These technologies were designed for real-world conditions. They perform well in remote, drought-affected, and low-resource areas.
“These solutions are not just inventions,” said a project manager. “They are ongoing charity. Each drop improves someone’s life.”
The award committee urged organizations to adopt and support these proven ideas. They aim to expand partnerships in future editions.
Dubai continues to lead in sustainable innovation. This award reflects its commitment to solving global challenges through action and technology.
