Dubai Teens Launch Volunteer Hub to Help Students Find Volunteer Roles in UAE

In a city known for ambition and innovation, two Year 12 students from Nord Anglia International School Dubai are making their mark, not in tech or finance, but in community service.

Samaira Bhattacharya and Chloe Ramel have launched Volunteer Hub, a student-run platform that connects youth with local volunteer opportunities across the UAE, tailored to their interests and availability.

Their motivation? A lack of access.

“As high school students, we genuinely found it difficult to locate volunteering opportunities in the UAE,” said Samaira, who hopes to study medicine in the UK.

“I was complaining to Samaira about not being able to find opportunities, and she said, ‘Let’s just build a platform,’” Chloe added.

Over four months, the duo brought the idea to life, Samaira connected with nonprofits while Chloe built the site using Wix. Volunteer Hub now allows users to filter opportunities by location, cause, and schedule. From environmental cleanups to education programs, it offers a broad range of meaningful roles.

Already, more than 90 students have signed up, and Volunteer Hub has partnered with 10 nonprofits including Thrift for Good and Sparkle Foundation.

Students like Malak Ezzeldine say the platform is a game-changer: “I had contacted so many NGOs but no one would respond. When I found Volunteer Hub, I finally got access to real opportunities.”

The two founders plan to expand beyond the UAE, potentially launching the concept in countries like India. They’re also working on a succession plan to keep the platform running after they graduate.

In a region where youth engagement is rising, Volunteer Hub proves that students don’t just want to help, they want to lead.
