A new Dubai Police warning highlights rising safety risks from teens riding bikes in residential areas during Ramadan.
Dubai Police have issued a public warning after noticing an increase in teenagers riding motorbikes and recreational bikes in residential neighbourhoods. The activity has become more common during Ramadan, especially in the hours after iftar. Officials say this behaviour is putting lives at risk and disturbing the peaceful atmosphere of the holy month.
According to Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations Affairs, many young riders are using internal roads and residential squares without fully understanding the dangers. He stressed that safety rules are often ignored.
Major General Al Mazrouei explained that riding in residential zones exposes teens to serious danger. “This exposes them to the risk of being run over or colliding with vehicles and pedestrians,” he said. He noted that family-oriented areas often have children and senior citizens outdoors during Ramadan evenings.
The behaviour also disrupts residents during a month known for calm nights, prayer, and family gatherings. Ramadan is traditionally a time of reflection and quiet community life across the UAE.
Dubai Police have increased traffic patrols in residential areas. Officers recently recorded several cases involving teens riding bikes illegally. Authorities stopped the individuals for their safety and the safety of others.

Dubai Police confirmed that such actions are legal violations and direct threats to road safety. Traffic regulations in the UAE clearly restrict unsafe use of vehicles in residential areas, as outlined by official authorities such as the UAE Government portal.
Officials are urging parents to closely monitor their children. They stressed that motorbikes and recreational bikes should not be used on public roads or inside residential communities without proper authorization.
Residents can report unsafe behaviour through the “We Are All Police” service by calling 901. They can also use the “Police Eye” feature on the official Dubai Police website.
Major General Al Mazrouei said community cooperation plays a key role in reducing such incidents. He called on residents to act responsibly and respect the privacy and safety of their neighbours.
“Prevention begins at home through continuous supervision and guidance to protect young people and the wider community,” he concluded.
As Ramadan continues, Dubai Police are reinforcing a clear message: driving and riding are serious responsibilities. Safety, awareness, and respect must always come first.
