Dubai Police’s Safe Stables initiative focuses on security and horse care
Dubai Police, Dubai Municipality and Dubai Equine Hospital brought stable owners together to discuss security, horse welfare and crime prevention.

Dubai Police has brought stable owners together with municipal and veterinary specialists through its “Safe Stables” initiative, focusing on facility security, responsible horse care and crime prevention.
The event took place at Al Aweer Majlis, organised by the Dubai Mounted Police Station under the General Department of Police Stations, in collaboration with Dubai Municipality and Dubai Equine Hospital.
In its announcement published on 26 October 2026, Dubai Police said the initiative aimed to raise safety standards and encourage preventive practices across the emirate’s equestrian community.
Stable security and horse welfare
Lieutenant Colonel Dhahi Salem Al Jallaf, Director of the Dubai Mounted Police Station, described protecting horses, securing facilities and safeguarding property as shared responsibilities.
He said closer cooperation with relevant organisations would help stable owners and employees adopt preventive practices. The initiative also forms part of the station’s efforts to maintain direct contact with the equestrian community.
Municipality representatives discussed veterinary inspections, stable licensing and the importance of meeting veterinary health and environmental requirements. Their guidance covered hygiene and disease prevention within equestrian facilities.
Dr David Carner of Dubai Equine Hospital highlighted regular veterinary examinations, suitable stable conditions and early identification of potential health problems. He also discussed nutrition, cleanliness and consistent daily care as key parts of horse welfare.
Advice extended to cybercrime and police services

The programme covered more than physical security. A panel brought together police and municipal specialists to discuss practical aspects of stable management and crime prevention.
Major Rashid Al Shamsi, Head of the Social Services Section at the Dubai Mounted Police Station, addressed property protection, security procedures and safe horse-riding practices.
Captain Saeed Jassim Ahli from the Cybercrime Department discussed protecting personal information and using digital platforms safely. Other speakers outlined preventive security measures and the services available through Smart Police Stations, including the ability to complete police transactions around the clock.
Fatima Bohjair, Chairperson of the Dubai Police Positive Spirit Council, also presented the council’s community activities and awareness programmes.
A forum for stable owners
According to Dubai Police, stable owners welcomed the opportunity to raise concerns directly with officers and exchange knowledge with municipal and veterinary specialists.
For owners and employees, the event brought facility security, horse care and digital safety into one discussion. The announcement describes an awareness and cooperation initiative; it does not set out new fines, compliance deadlines or a new licensing scheme.
Al Jallaf concluded by thanking the participating organisations and stable owners, stressing the value of continued coordination and direct communication with the equestrian community.
