How to get to Danube Station
From Centrepoint, the airport or Downtown Dubai
Take a Red Line train towards the south-west. Because the line branches, make sure the destination display says Life Pharmacy. If you board an Expo 2020 service, follow RTA instructions to change for the Life Pharmacy branch.
From Dubai Marina or JLT
Board the Red Line towards Life Pharmacy. Danube comes after Energy.
From Expo City Dubai
Travel on the Red Line from Expo 2020 and change to the Life Pharmacy branch at the RTA-designated branch interchange. Check the train display and on-board announcements because operating patterns can be adjusted.
To the Green Line
Danube is not an interchange. Stay on the Red Line and change at BurJuman or Union for the Green Line.
First and last train times
RTA's overall Metro hours are normally:
| Day | Network hours |
|---|---|
| Monday–Thursday | 5:00 am–12:00 midnight |
| Friday | 5:00 am–1:00 am the next day |
| Saturday | 5:00 am–12:00 midnight |
| Sunday | 8:00 am–12:00 midnight |
These are network opening hours, not Danube's exact first and last departures. Branch services can end earlier than the system-wide closing time. Use the RTA journey planner or S'hail for the exact train on your travel date.
Fares and nol cards
Danube uses the standard zonal nol fare system. Silver-card journeys generally cost:
| Zones crossed | Silver nol fare |
|---|---|
| One zone | AED 3 |
| Two adjacent zones | AED 5 |
| More than two zones | AED 7.50 |
Gold Class is charged at a higher rate. Children aged five or below travel free under normal RTA rules. Always tap in and tap out, and maintain the required minimum balance before starting a trip.
Station layout and accessibility
Danube is an elevated station with a concourse below the platforms. Standard Dubai Metro features include:
- Ticket vending and nol top-up facilities
- Fare gates and customer information screens
- Lifts and escalators
- Step-free routes
- Tactile guidance for visually impaired passengers
- Dedicated spaces for wheelchair users on trains
- Women-and-children and Gold Class cabin markings
- Taxi and bus connections in the surrounding area
For specific lift outages or temporary access changes, check RTA alerts before travel.
Nearby places and onward travel
The station primarily serves:
- Jebel Ali Industrial First
- Warehouses, showrooms and offices along the industrial corridor
- Businesses near Sheikh Zayed Road
- Connections toward Jebel Ali Free Zone and Mina Jebel Ali by bus, taxi or company transport
Walking conditions in industrial districts can be less comfortable than in central Dubai. Some destinations that appear close on a map are separated by multilane roads or limited pedestrian crossings. Confirm the correct station exit and use a taxi or authorised shuttle where necessary.
Danube Station history and name
The station opened on 12 December 2012 as part of the Red Line's extension into Jebel Ali. It was originally known as Jebel Ali Industrial and later received the Danube name through Dubai Metro's commercial naming programme.
Because station sponsorship names can change, the permanent station code R41 is useful when checking maps and journey planners.
Useful route tips
- Look for Life Pharmacy, not Expo 2020, on the train destination.
- Do not confuse Danube (R41) with Jabal Ali (R38), the branch point.
- Allow extra time for the final bus, taxi or staff shuttle into the industrial area.
- On Fridays and Sundays, check the day's operating pattern before an early or late trip.
- During public holidays and major events, use RTA's live announcements.
